Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy that resists seawater, brine and hydrofluoric acid. It is easy to weld with ERNiCu-7 filler wire, which we supply.
What is Monel 400?
Monel 400 is about two-thirds nickel and one-third copper. It does not suffer chloride stress-corrosion cracking, and it resists fast-flowing seawater, brackish water, hydrofluoric and sulphuric acids, and alkalis.
It is strong, tough down to sub-zero temperatures, and is widely used for marine fasteners, pump shafts, valve trim and heat-exchanger tubes.
