What makes a stainless steel "special"?
Special stainless steels are alloyed for a duty that 304 or 316 cannot meet. Titanium- or niobium-stabilised grades (316Ti, 321) resist sensitisation at high temperature. Higher-molybdenum grades (317L, 904L) resist pitting and sulphuric acid.

SS 316Ti (UNS S31635) from your special stainless steel supplier in Chennai
SS 316Ti is 316 stainless steel with a small titanium addition, at least five times the carbon plus nitrogen content. Titanium ties up carbon as titanium carbide, so chromium carbides cannot form at grain boundaries when the steel is held between 400 and 800 °C. That keeps its corrosion resistance after welding and in long high-temperature service.
We supply 316Ti plate, bar and pipe and machine 316Ti thermowells, flanges and fittings. It is common in European specifications as 1.4571.

Which grades does your special stainless steel supply in Chennai include?
SS 316Ti, 321, 317L, 904L, 316L and 304L, plus urea-grade 310MoLN, in plate, bar, pipe, tube and machined parts.
What is the difference between 316L and 316Ti?
Both resist sensitisation. 316L does it with low carbon; 316Ti does it with titanium, which also gives better strength at high temperature. 316Ti is preferred for long service above about 400 °C.
Which filler wire suits 316Ti?
ER316L is commonly used; ER318 (Nb-stabilised) is specified where the weld must also be stabilised. Tell us your WPS and we will match it.
